RH 47 Customer Testimonials
· TESTIMONIAL #1:
We are using the RH47 product in a gray iron product that incorporates a
titanium addition to produce Type D graphite flakes. The ferrotitanium
alloy added has a relatively high melting point and creates a lot of slag.
We have found that the RH47 product was effective at reducing slag build-up
in the ladle when producing this material.
We also use an RH47 addition when producing cast iron ingots (static cast
gray and ductile in cast iron ingot molds). We top pour these and want to
obtain as much yield as possible. We found that the RH-47 product helped
keep slag and dross fluid longer (i.e. lowered the melting point of the
slag), which allowed it to float to the top of the ingot, thus minimizing
loss at the top of the solidified ingot.
We use approximately a 0.1% addition rate for both applications.
We have seen no negative effects of the flux on the refractory lining.
Hope this helps.
· TESTIMONIAL #2:
We went from a competing product to RH47 many years ago because we had excellent success with reducing the amount of labor it took to clean out the build-up of material out of the tundish ladles. The effectiveness and pricing of RH-47 couldn’t be matched.
RH47 was King due to quicker turnaround time on ladles and less wear and tear on employees.
We used RH47 for many years and did not have any isolated issues with slag. As long as we maintained good slag procedures in the entire operations we kept slag scrap very low.
